A couple of nights ago Sam saw the Transformers movie for the first time.
He. Loved. Every. Minute.
We are now Transformer-obsessed in this house, and when his dad took him out today for errands, they came home with a two-pack of toys. Optimus Prime (the good guy, for those of you without little kids or who missed the cartoon in the 80's) and Megatron (bad guy). "There are two!" Sam shouted, as he showed me the box. "I can be the good guy and Jane can be the bad guy!" Lucky Jane.
After I untwisted the 8 thousand twisties, got through the padlocks and barbed wire that all toys are wrapped in these days, they got to playing. It was great for about 10 minutes, until Sam wanted to transform the one guy into the truck. This is where one needs a degree in rocket science to figure it out.
I thought I was being smart by following the instructions to a tee, so that Sam would know exactly how to do it. This has completely backfired. I am now the only person in this house who can successfully transform them from robots to trucks and back to robots.
I have spent the afternoon doing it, I think Sam thinks I am enjoying it, but if I have to keep it up today I may just transform them into a million pieces....a million zillion pieces....
Christ! Is that what I have to look forward to with two boys............That's it no more TV, movies, books, trips to stores or friend's houses or.......I can barely keep up with re inserting the straw to Jake's juice box!

Ahhh Transformers I remember them well. Didn't like them at all, my son loved them, I didn't and now another generation of mothers will feel my pain. I'm so sorry Sarah. I would love to say that this phase will pass but the way Sam is with his obsessions you have a long way to go...
Wait till Janie discovers "Polly Pocket" I will send you my magnifying glass for that toy!

You are taking me back in time. My brother was a transformers freak back in the day. So, here I sit, singing:
tranformers, more than meets the eye. Autobots (something something I forget) to destroy the evil forces of...
THE DECETPICONS.
have fun!
